Flat PVC window strips have a thickness ranging from 2 mm to 3 mm and come in lengths (bars) of 6 m. In addition to the above-mentioned strips, self-adhesive PVC strips with a gasket (lip) on one edge are also produced. The strip’s gasket serves to mask minor wall irregularities around the window. This enhances the aesthetic value of the PVC finishing strip. Window finishing strips are also manufactured with laminates.PVC finishing strips are laminated with foils from companies such as Renolit, Hornschuch, Cova, and LG using machines (laminating machines) with appropriate adhesives. Coloured finishing strips have a thickness of 2.5 mm and are available in lengths (bars) of 6 m.Flat coloured strips with a gasket are also produced, where the gasket colour is matched to the foil colours from Renolit and Hornschuch. These strips are made in 5 m bars. Plastic strips are produced both with self-adhesive tape and without it. Both white PVC strips and decorative laminated strips serve as an aesthetic finishing element of the window.
Finishing with self-adhesive strips significantly speeds up the finishing work after window installation. It is important to remember that white PVC strips, especially laminated ones, expand with rising temperatures in summer and contract when temperatures drop in winter. Therefore, expansion gaps should be left at both ends of the strip that is adhered to the window frame. The frame must be degreased with a suitable agent that does not damage the window material. Experience shows that strips are best cut at a right angle.Flat PVC profiles – PVC window strips can be rolled up for transport. When properly packaged, rolled plastic strips will not deform permanently during transport (2 to 3 days). Upon receiving the shipment, these strips should be immediately unrolled and laid out on a flat surface.The described window finishing strips can be additionally glued with mounting adhesive suitable for bonding PVC, for extra security.
